ESTON IN BLOOM
WORKING WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS
Gillbrook comprehensive (now Hillsview Academy) have become involved in the Eston community and in bloom work.
We had meetings at the school with Deputy Principal, Paul Julian who has attended our in bloom meetings, along with the pupils, meeting elderly residents at Barnaby House.
The school pupils have planted a wild flower garden in the school grounds and beds.
We will continue with our work in all ways to promote our town and community.....
We have taken our derelict urban community, the town being full of grey concrete. We have mixed our planting, and also brought Rowan Trees back into our town centre to attract the birds with the red berries.
The community garden at the sides and back are planted with trees, bushes, including climbing hydrangea perennial bushes, dahlias , Lilies and fox gloves to give colour height and character to the beds and garden.
We have also planted Pink Pixie, Black Beauty and Purple Pixie Cenanothus Lemon and Lime (to attract the butterflies and bees).....
